(Ecosan Toilet Bathroom Complex)
SCOPE in collaboration with the Kameswaram Panchayat, Friends-in-Need
(FIN), France, Ethos of Calcutta, and students of NIT had constructed
a model Ecosan Toilet -Bathroom - Complex for use of visitors
and staff in the Kameswaram panchayat. This highly environmentally
friendly model toilet has rainwater harvesting and solar lighting
facilities.
The main features of the Ecopsan TBC constructed at accost of
Rs. 75,000.
1. Ecofriendly sustainable TBC with RWH and Solar energy facility.
2. Most of the materials are locally available. (Solar panel,
light toilets and pans are bought from outside).
3. Men’s toilet, made of bamboo, has ceramic pans.
4. Bathroom with RWH. Rain Water falling on all three roofs collected
in two tanks inside the bathroom.
5. Bathroom provided with towel, soap stand.
6. The women’s toilet made of bricks is having FBR pans.
7. The solar panel fixed above the women’s toilet, supplies
power to lights in the two toilets, and the bathroom.
8. The solar panel can supply power to the lights for three-four-hours
every night.
9. Railings provided to help users, to climb up the steps.

18. About 200 persons coming to panchayat office complex daily,
will use the same.
